Starbucks Gets Bugged

After pressure from a consumers, Starbucks puts the brakes on using cochineal beetle extract to color drinks

After pressure from vegetarian customers, Starbucks will be phasing out the food coloring created from crushed bugs. 

Reuters reports that Starbucks will stop using the product by June.

In March, KFI reported that Starbucks used cochineal extract, which is derived from bugs and is approved by the government for human consumption, to color some of its drinks.
