The center focuses on the social and emotional wellness of DHS students.

DUBLIN, CA — The Dublin High School Wellness Center is open for students, and to celebrate the campus held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday.
The center, which will be staffed with mental health professionals, focuses on the social and emotional wellness of DHS students by offering services, programs, and educational workshops to help them thrive in and out of the classroom, according to the Dublin Unified School District.
Some of the services offered include on-call, one-on-one, and group counseling; tobacco use prevention education program counseling; adulting 101 classes; place to relax, take a mental health break, or grab a snack.

"Needless to say, mental health is an increasingly important and relevant issue affecting more of the student body than most would prefer to admit," wrote DHS student Danielle Tran in her article that appeared Wednesday in the student paper, The Dublin Shield.
Dublin Mayor David Haubert and a representative from Congressman Eric Swalwell's office were on hand for Thursday's event. Fremont Bank — which donated $10,000 toward the center — was also at the ceremony, along with Dublin Police Services, Colonel Ellis from Camp Parks, the Alameda County Office of Education, Target, and others.
