Summer STEM and Advancement Opportunities at Quarry Lane School

Quarry Lane offers a variety of STEM opportunities for students at all grade levels and a variety of for-credit summer courses.

With summer on the horizon, we know summer planning is also well underway for many of families. As you begin to make your summer plans, we wanted to share an overview of the Summer STEM programs we are offering this year for students in preschool through high school.

Additionally, Quarry Lane's highly popular Summer Academy program offers a variety of for-credit Science, Mathematics, and World Language courses for students looking to advance over the summer.

Preschool-Rising Third Graders
Summer STEM Academy - Our Summer STEM Academy is a one-of-a-kind STEM-based program featuring a full day of STEM exploration. This unique experience creates an environment for students to discover science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics through material and concept exploration. This summer, we are offering two Summer STEM Academy programs—one for students entering Jr. K and Kindergarten and one for students entering Grades 1 through 3. Our Jr. K & Kindergarten program will be held at our Dublin West, Pleasanton East and West campuses while our Grades 1-3 program will be held at our Pleasanton East campus. Each program will have three sessions and will run from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. Before and after care will be available from 7:00 am-6:00 pm for all sessions. Click here to learn more.

Rising Fourth and Fifth Graders
Math Competition Readiness - This summer course is designed to prepare upper elementary students for math competitions such as CML and MOEMS. Sessions will consist of logic puzzles, math games, and practice tests that build number sense and metacognition. This course is part of our Summer Academy program and is offered in two three week-sessions (June 14-July 3 & July 8-26) from 1:00 pm-4:45 pm. Click here to learn more.

Rising Fourth through Eight Graders
Summer Robotics Camp – During this 4-day camp, students will experience leadership development, team challenges, basic programming and mechanical engineering clinics, 3D printing, and work to build a robot to compete, at the end of the week, in a game designed by our High School FRC Robotics Team 7419 “TECH Support”. Students will be in groups of 6-8, and be mentored by two high school team members. Our adult mentors from Team 7419 will also be guiding students in their design challenges, and inspiring them with exposure to the world of competitive robotics and STEAM education. At the end of the week, 2-4pm on the last day of camp, parents are invited to come to the competition, followed by an awards ceremony. Participants will receive a certificate of participation, as well as a camp t-shirt. Camp dates are June 10-13 and runs from 9:00 am-4:00 pm. Click here to learn more.

Rising Middle and High School
Summer Academy – In addition to our highly popular mathematics and summer courses, our Summer Academy program offers a variety of STEM courses including Exploration in Game Design, Middle School Robotics & Engineering, and High School Design Challenges, Engineering & Robotics. Our mathematics and science courses are offered in 6-week sessions while our Engineering & Technology courses are offered in three-week sessions. Click here to learn more.
