Therapy Dogs Visit Students at Quarry Lane
The students at Quarry Lane School received a couple of special visitors as they reviewed for their final exams next week.
As a way to help high school students unwind and take the pressure off of studying for their exams, the Quarry Lane School Wildlife Club partnered with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs to host two of their furry friends on campus. Charlie and Libbey visited the Quarry Lane School's Dublin campus on Thursday, December 13th and Friday, December 14th. For two hours, they received plenty of hugs, frolicked, played, and melted the hearts of the students that came to see them.
"Knowing that Quarry Lane students would be busy studying for the upcoming finals exams, I thought that therapy dogs would help relieve some of their stress," says Quarry Lane 11th grade student and vice president of the Wildlife Club, Juliana Gerard. "I expected that students would be excited to see the therapy dogs, but I underestimated the impact they would have on my peers. Over 30 students sat petting the dogs and holding them for almost an hour of their break time. As the first therapy dog visit at Quarry Lane, this event was a huge success and I look forward to planning more in the future."
In addition, the Wildlife Club also raised funds for the Alliance of Therapy Dogs through the event.

"This was such a wonderful event for our students," says Mr. Eric Nguyen, High School Director at the Quarry Lane School. "The joy that these dogs brought to our students was amazing and just the thing they needed during the home stretch of review week. I'm so proud of our students for taking initiative and ownership of bringing these dogs to campus."
