Transient Woman Accused of Burglarizing Dublin Home: Police

BREAKING: A security camera recorded Jennifer Smith while she was inside the home, police said.

DUBLIN, CA — A transient woman who was captured on camera burglarizing a Dublin home on New Year’s Eve has been arrested, police officials said. According to police, the victim posted home surveillance video of the unidentified woman on social media, which generated numerous leads from the community. Neighborhood witnesses say they saw a dark green minivan in the area at the time of the burglary.

Investigators soon identified and arrested Jennifer Smith, 31, who is a local transient. Police say most of the property was recovered and returned to the victim.

“Dublin Police Services would like to thank the community for their assistance in identifying the suspect,” police said in a statement. “We ask residents to continue to be vigilant in reporting any activity that seems out-of- the-ordinary or suspicious in nature to Dublin Police Services.”
