What’s Different About TriV?
There are many organizations offering programming classes, and they are just that -- classes, just like school, seated classroom format, structured teacher-led lectures that students listen to, follow, have homework for, restricted in content by age group, judged through, and parents pay for. Nothing wrong with that if that’s what you’re looking for.
But that’s not us, we’re a club. We provide kids learning opportunities that are self-guided, self-paced, where kids determine what they are interested in following, exploring, and creating in a free-form child-led, family-friendly, learning environment. They are free to talk to their friends, meet new people, start new group projects, move around, and check out what other kids are doing -- in short have FUN and all for FREE!

We host sessions three times a month, have occasional special events, like hackathons and pizza parties, sometimes there are prizes, usually tasty snacks, but always there’s a welcome, supportive, atmosphere where kids can learn and still be...kids! It’s more like a party.
Have teens? No problem, we have them too, and they have time to learn in a stress-less environment where they can still develop leadership and public speaking skills while meeting other teens who are also still building their skills and student resumes. They can even get volunteer service credit if they need that for school. We’re not another competitive pressure cooker; we’re a creative outlet.

Interested? No fees, no obligation, just join our mailing list (bit.ly/jointrivalleycoderdojo) so that we can notify you about upcoming events that you can register for.
What’s needed? A parent or parent-authorized adult to chaperone your youth coder and a laptop. Oh, and their enthusiasm and curiosity about the cool things they’ll learn, that’s a must.
Parents? What do they get to do? Meet other parents and have fun too, or just chill. When was the last time you got to do that?
No laptop? Contact us, we might have a laptop for you to borrow for the session.
