Watch: Dublin 40th Anniversary Documentary Available To View

The 50-minute documentary uses interviews with people who were there to tell the story of the city's founding.

DUBLIN, CA — A 51-minute documentary detailing the founding of Dublin is now available for public viewing.

“Dublin: The Making of a City” is a documentary that features interviews with the people who helped build it. The extensive documentary tells the story of how Dublin went from an unincorporated area of Alameda County to the global city it is today.

The documentary premiered Saturday at Dublin’s 40th Anniversary Ruby Affair gala.

“Not too long ago in the media, it was stated that Dublin would become one of the wealthiest in the state of California,” Pete Snyder, Dublin’s first mayor, said in his first mayoral speech in 1982 that his daughter Shari Elliott read during the documentary. “And I would like to state to you unequivocally, right now, that I think Dublin was very wealthy before it ever was a city. Its wealth is in the people who make up its residency.”
