What was the Loud Siren Heard in Dublin Early Sunday Morning?

If you live in Dublin, San Ramon, Pleasanton and even Livermore, you likely heard it ... Residents from all over Tri-Valley reported hearing a brief but loud siren from Camp Parks during the early morning hours on Sunday.

Patch reader Darci Gutierrez posted on the Dublin Patch Facebook page asking if anyone in Dublin knew the origins of the siren.

“Anyone know anything about a siren going off last night/early this morning about 1:30 a.m.? Sounded like an air raid siren?”

Camp Parks spokesperson Danilo Gannod confirmed the early morning alarm was from the military installation and said the siren sounded accidentally.

“We apologize if it caused any undue disturbance. The time of the incident happened at 1:36 a.m. Sunday morning when a maintenance crew was performing a diagnostic check on the system and accidentally tripped the siren. The loudspeaker is part of a community alert system is used in times of emergency.
