Zeiss Expanding Footprint In Dublin With New High-Tech Center
Zeiss is building a three-story 208,650-square-foot facility at 5300 Central Parkway in Dublin.
DUBLIN, CA — Construction is underway on a 13.5-acre site in Dublin that further entrenches the German-based high tech firm Zeiss in the city. The company has been in Dublin for 20 years at its site on Hacienda Drive, which houses a call center and customer support team, but now it is stretching it local wings.
Zeiss — which develops, produces and distributes complex optics and optoelectronics solutions for myriad life sciences industries — is building a three-story 208,650-square-foot facility at 5300 Central Parkway in Dublin. According to the company, the facility will bring together multiple Zeiss strategic business groups under one roof to create a place for up to 700 workspaces.The building is scheduled for completion late next year.
The new Dublin site is part of Zeiss’ global investment strategy, and is one element in a string of international projects aimed at "expanding, modernizing and realigning sites that Zeiss has been implementing in locations such as Germany, Europe and Asia since 2011," according to the company.

“Our investments are focused on leveraging the existing potential in our growth markets,” said Dr. Christian Mueller, member of the executive board and CFO of the Zeiss Group. “As a global technology leader, we need an even stronger presence and better networking at the innovation hotspots.”
Dublin will serve as the U.S. headquarters for the Zeiss Medical Technology group, the company's Industrial Quality & Research branch, and its Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology division, according to the company.

The facility will feature customer experience centers for Medical Technology and Microscopy,
along with digital training rooms for employees and customers, the company said.
