Blog: Having Fun with Abstracts in Instagram Photography

A few years ago I did a book of photography titled Lines & Textures. The images all came from walking around and looking at my surroundings, which is something we don’t do very often. As it happens, that’s still a theme in my adventures with smartphone photography.

In these images, you’ll notice the cropping is tighter and more abstract. That can be a tricky exercise with a smartphone—trying to take a close-up shot and keeping it in focus.
