Blog: Local Students Walk for a Cause
Local elementary school students hold walk-a-thon to raise money to improve education, health and more for families in Kipsongol, Kenya.

Tuesday afternoon was hot and sunny, but that didn’t stop hundreds of students and teachers at Celerity Troika’s Eagle Rock Campus. It was walk-a-thon day, and a chance to raises thousands of dollars for charity.
Kids and teachers alike completed at least 30 laps around the school’s June 19 walk-a-thon site as volunteers called out commands to skip, hop on one foot and walk backwards. Of course, being a hot day, the “soak zone” was very popular.
Every year, students and staff hold a similar event to raise money for a worthy cause. This year, Celerity has chosen to partner with Free The Children (FTC). Through the partnership, Celerity students and faculty have adopted the Kenyan village of Kipsongol, and are raising money to provide education, alternative incomes, healthcare, water and sanitation to Kipsongol’s families.
