One couple keeps the passion alive with a spicy trip through Eagle Rock's taco trucks.
A couple of days ago, I gave my beloved the option of having a traditional or fun date night. He opted for the fun one. After eight years of innumerable date nights together, you really have to get creative.
Like many couples, we have one night that’s entirely free of the smart phone, the laptop and work chat. We also relish taking turns to plan and come up with something new and interesting. That’s four to five date nights per month—about 52 times a year. Compound that over eight years and you can see why dinner and a movie can get old really fast.
Needless to say, we’ve really had to amp it up over the years on the creative front.

Maybe we could have taken that cooking class at Sur La Table. Perhaps we could have redeemed our Groupon for trapeze lessons. Still, nothing quite spoke to me like one option: Taco truck hopping through Eagle Rock! Seriously, what can be more fun and romantic than devouring a tender corn tortilla bedazzled with a mound of sizzling meat?
We’re incredibly lucky to live within a two-mile radius of 7 highly rated taco trucks/joints—and these are the offerings in Eagle Rock and Glendale alone. Just like traveling together to India, tonight’s taco trucking will be a journey my beloved and I will share and cherish. Agra may have the Taj Mahal, but we have La Estrella.

Important Tips: 1) Bring cash. 2) Don't use up precious real estate by drinking too many liquids between stops. 3) Don’t get gluttonous. To prevent tapping out by truck #3, share one or two tacos max per stop. Happy hopping!
