Creativity and Community at 'The Center'
At the Center for the Arts' Summer Art Camp, kids tune into their creative side all summer, creating masks, painting pictures, cooking pizza and juggling scarves.
The onset of the Labor Day weekend on Friday marks the end of summer. Today is also the day when the last batch of children attending the last of eight weeks of Summer Art Camp at the exhibit their work in a grand art show.
Scheduled at CFAER at 4 p.m., the public event, which will also feature some lively performances by the kids, promises to set new boundaries in juvenile creativity.
These photographs are proof that in a city in which art camps and classes are as ubiquitous and popular as, say, the “planking” craze is on Facebook, it’s hard to beat The Center's quality instruction—and community participation—in the visual arts and crafts.
