DARE TO BE SQUARE - WEST | November 8 - 10th, 2013 

A Conference to learn to call & play music for traditional square dances

The Dare to be Square mission is to promote and preserve traditional square dancing. The Dare to be Square - West Event is a weekend of square dance calling & music workshops, dancing, jamming, and tons of fun! This event has brought forth many new dance callers & musicians, spreading square dance fever! 

Conference Schedule: Starting with a public dance on Friday, November 8th at 8pm with callers Larry Edelman and Tony Mates and music by Tom Sauber & Co. and Chicken Liquor, the weekend classes begin on Saturday, November 9th at 9am with two full days of workshops for beginning square dance calling and master calling, instrument workshops on fiddle, banjo, and playing for dances and clogging. Saturday evening at 8pm there is another public dance with the faculty lineup and the conference ends with a catered dinner on Sunday, November 10th at 5:30pm.
