About Linda Vallejo – A to Z Grant writing Instructor

Solo exhibitions of Vallejo’s newest series “Make ‘Em All Mexican” has been featured at Lancaster Museum of Art and History, Lancaster, CA; Clemente Soto Velez Cultural and Education Center, New York, New York; the 5th Chicana/o Biennial at Movimiento de Arte y Cultural Latino Americano (MACLA) in San Jose, CA; Aqui Estamos - We Are Here: California Chican@ Art at Cabrillo Community College Gallery, Aptos, CA; and the UCLA Chicano Studies Resource Center. Vallejo was selected as a 2014 COLA Fellow by the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs in 2014. Vallejo was included in The California/International Arts Foundation’s publication L.A. Rising: SoCal Artists Before 1980 and the Getty Foundation’s Pacific Standard Time: Art in LA 1945-1980 and in two PST exhibitions; Mapping Another LA: The Chicano Art Movement, UCLA Fowler Museum, and Doin’ It in Public: Art and Feminism at the Woman’s Building, Ben Maltz Gallery, Otis College of Art.

Her work is represented by SaltFineArt in Laguna Beach, CA and Bert Green Fine Art in Chicago, Ill.

Session One

Grant writing Workshop for Non-Profit Organizations and Grant writing Consultants Sunday, May 24, 10am - 2pm / $75 pre-pay online

Through the A to Z Grant writing student will gain the skills, resources, and tools needed to diversify and expand your organization’s funding base. Renowned grant writing instructor Linda Vallejo will present a simple and proven system for securing funding from government, foundation, corporate and individual donors.

Students will learn to:

• Research and organize “good match” potential funders

• Organize a successful grant writing campaign submitting ongoing proposals to a diverse list of “good match” potential funders

• Develop positive working relationships with potential funders who care about the issue for which you are working to raise funds

• Organize and maintain a development office and development team

• Establish relationships and work successfully with collaborating partners

• Consolidate a complete grant proposal package including need statement, measurable objectives, evaluation and budgets

Prerequisite: None.

Materials and Supplies: Each participant will be provided with a course manual including lessons, samples, tools, and resources.

Session Two

A to Z Grantwriting for the Individual Artist / Sunday, May 24, 2:30-4:00 pm / $25 pre-pay online

The workshop will teach participants how to write grants for individual artist grants, fellowships, and artist residency opportunities.

Prerequisite: None.

Materials and Supplies: Each participant will be provided with a course manual including lessons, samples, tools, and resources.
