Eagles rout Tigers

In their first encounter in many decades Eagle Rock hosted nearby South Pasadena in an intersectional football game Friday night at Mengel Field. After a sluggish start with numerous costly penalties that helped stall several key possessions, the Eagles got going in the second half. They scored early in the game a nd took the lead, but several turnovers and penalties  put the Tigers back in the game. Going into the second half the Eagles held a tenuous one touchdown edge over the underdog Tigers. The Eagles finally got their act together and came away with a 40-15 win to bring their record to 2-0. It was head coach Greg Pierce first meeting against his former alma mater, where was a standout player
