A Store Is Born—48 Years After Conception (PHOTOS)

It’s not just Eagle Rock’s latest store but indisputably its most fabulous: "The Eagle Rock Rock and Eagle Shop," as it’s called, opened Sunday evening—48 years after the remarkable idea behind it was conceived, right here in Eagle Rock.

Located on 4765 Eagle Rock Blvd., just one store south of , The Eagle Rock Rock and Eagle Shop is the long-hibernating result of a conversation that two childhood friends—artists Mason Williams and Ed Ruscha—had back in 1964. There’s a reason why The Eagle Rock Rock and Eagle Shop's name—TERRES, for short—is a mouthful. As some of the accompanying photos show, just about everything in the store revolves around eagles and rocks. If that sounds too far-fetched, especially given that The Eagle Rock Rock and Eagle Shop opened on April Fool's Day, stay tuned for details in an upcoming article.
