ERHS 50 years reunion

People from as far away as  Alaska and Georgia came back to the Southland to participate in  ERHS 1963 graduation classes for a 50th year reunion. Due to depleting numbers the winter (Tahitians) and summer(Aremitis) 1963 classes combined for the event. Old classmates were able to reminisce and catch up on the lost years gone by with former friends. A memory board for those who had passed on, and photos and memorabilia were available for viewing. After a short program a buffet dinner was served, and more speeches followed by a cake cutting  with class logos. The program concluded with the singing of the alma mater led by former band director Ed Hughes. After which old friends gathered one more time to exchange pleasantries and memories. Among those attending were some the era's top athletes, most notably Rick Carey and Bob Jones.  Considered  one of the school's best of all time,Jones who still holds many school records in track after 50 years, will be inducted into the ERHS hall of fame in October. At evenings end classmates said tearful farewells not knowing when and if they would meet again.
