possible solution to Syria dilemna?

I recently read a unique viewpoint regarding the Syria  question, to which I concur.  France at one time had colonized Syria, and has a vested interest in the country's well being. They have also have taken an aggressive stand against the Assad regime and have said they are willing to take action after the  recent gas atrocities. So let them take the forefront on action with the USA taking a supporting role. This way we don't alienate more countries as the aggressor, and placate our citizens  who are against full involvement again in the region, but will still show we will not tolerate crimes against innocent people anywhere.  The world can not stand by and forget the lessons of the holocaust when nothing was done.
