Shambhala Mediation Program: Union of Shamatha and Vipashyana

Full awakening is only possible when we realize the inherent unity of shamatha and vipashyana meditation. When we are fully present and alive to who we are, we can open to our world and appreciate the whole space of our existence.

Traditionally, we practice the qualities of precision and openness as if they were separate and different. As we gradually bring them together, we realize they were never apart to begin with.  This weekend allows us the opportunity to deepen our shamatha practice, and offers glimpses of vipashyana and its union with shamatha.

This class is highly recommended for any student who has completed "Rigden", but is open to anyone with a connection to meditation, especially those with an established shamatha practice for at least one year.
