WHAT:

Glendale Adventist Medical Center’s Founders Guild will be hosting its annual fundraising
Valentine Luncheon to benefit the Play to Learn Pediatric Therapy Center on
Feb. 12. The Play to Learn Center offers a
range of services to help children with special needs realize their highest
level of communication.

WHO:

The “Women of Jewelia” subjects of the book “The Necklace” will be
the guest speakers at the annual Valentine
Luncheon. The book is the true and inspiring story of thirteen ordinary women
who took a risk on an expensive diamond necklace and, in the process, touched the
lives of a community, and together created one extraordinary
experience.  A silent auction, as well as signed copies of the
book will be available.

WHY:

The Play to Learn Center, which
is the beneficiary of The Founders Guild’s fundraising activities, offers a
range of services for children with special needs, such as delayed speech or
walking, sensory deficits, cerebral palsy, stroke, autism, genetic syndromes,
and many other diagnoses.  The Play to Learn Center helps these children
realize their highest level of communication thereby increasing their social,
emotional and academic skills; develop skills to play and interact at an age
appropriate level; become more independent through improved movement,
communication, feeding and social interaction; and with the help of their
families, deal with the complex issues they face. http://www.glendaleadventist.com/pediatric-therapy
