Violin Prodigy Aubree Oliverson Joins Pasadena Community Orchestra for Lalo's "Symphonie Espagnole" in concert Friday, May 15th.
Young Artist Competition Winner Oliverson performs Lalo's violin showpiece; free concert also includes Haydn's Symphony #104 (the "London").

Pasadena Community Orchestra, under the direction of Bethany Pflueger, presents its final regular-season concert on Friday, May 15th at First Church of the Nazarene, 3700 E. Sierra Madre Blvd., Pasadena. Seventeen-year-old Aubree Oliverson, concertmistress of Colburn Academy’s “Virtuosi,” has been performing solos with various groups and winning awards for her playing since she was 11 years old. She was featured on the NPR program, From the Top, twice, and soloed in Carnegie Hall at age 12. Oliverson performs Lalo’s fiery Symphonie Espagnole, a vivid evocation of Spain as well as a show-piece for the violinist. Haydn’s Symphony #104, the “London” symphony, is his last and certainly one of his best-loved. Europe’s greatest composer of his time takes us on a joyous ride that leaves the listener breathless and wanting more. Audience members may meet the soloist, Music Director, and other musicians at a reception following the concert. Admission is free, and no reservations are necessary.
