• Man dies after assault in East Palo Alto (padailypost.com) — A 52-year-old Menlo Park man died after an assault Thursday afternoon on the 2300 block of University Avenue in East Palo Alto, where police quickly arrested a suspect identified by the victim. Investigators say this is the city's first homicide since April 2024 and are continuing to examine what led up to the deadly encounter.
   

• East Palo Alto man arrested in string of Caltrain bike thefts (sfchronicle.com) — An East Palo Alto man has been arrested after deputies linked him to 10 bicycle thefts from Caltrain train cars between May and August, using onboard video to identify a suspect. He was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on multiple theft charges, though officials have not said where the thefts occurred or whether bikes were recovered.
