EAST PALO ALTO, CA — Though Friday was predicted to be "unseasonably cool" with scattered showers, Peninsula residents and visitors can expect a warming trend to kick in this holiday weekend, forecasters said. High pressure is expected to build in the region, leading to warmer temperatures on Sunday through Tuesday especially.

A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming north northeast in the morning. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. West southwest wind around 8 mph becoming northwest in the evening.

Partly sunny, with a high near 64. West northwest wind 7 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Sunny, with a high near 70. Light and variable wind becoming north northwest 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
