Adrift at Sea, a new body of work
by Johnny Lieberman, is a collection of whimsical contortions in which animals
are used to depict the human condition at the current juncture. The exhibition
includes shadowboxes as well as works on paper and wood, each portraying
mankind’s attempts—sometimes successful, sometimes futile— to help the planet,
emphasizing the vastness of the sea and the Earth, in contrast to the smallness
of the individual.
