Let's go see this award-winning documentary directed by
Michael Perlman of "Tibet: Beyond Fear." Most of us are concerned
about how China’s developments in the global stage is affecting our jobs and everything
we consume…all without rule of law and human rights. The film highlights human rights abuses (from
organ harvesting prisoners of conscience to the making of Homer Simpson
slippers inside slave labor camps)…to recent efforts to bring freedom to the
country, including new internet technologies that are allowing Chinese access
to uncensored information.
If you see the film at 7pm and
9pm on June 1st, you will meet award-winning director Michael Perlman, producer
Kean Wong, and Jennifer Zeng and Dr. Charles Lee, both are subjects of the
documentary and survivors of the Chinese Laogai camps - the slave labor camps
for "thought reform" in a Q&A post show.
