Blog: Santigold Rocks L.A., Coachella

Santigold’s debut album Santogold received rave reviews from critics and fans. The album turned out hits like "L.E.S Artistes," "Creator" and "Lights Out." This Spring Santigold releases Master of My Make-Believe. If the singles “Disparate Youth” and “Big Mouth” are indicators of what to expect, this album is certain to be nothing short of brilliant. It is likely to be another album packed with memorable Santigold music.

As a singer/songwriter and producer Santigold clearly is a force to be reckoned with. Her “I’ve Worked With …” list includes Philadephia based DJ Diplo, Major Lazer, Christina Aguilera, The N.E.R.D.S Pharrell Williams, Lilly Allen and M.I.A. And who can forget Santigold’s track “Shove It” sampled by living legends Kanye West and Jay Z for the single “Brooklyn Go Hard” - a head-nodding hip hop classic.

No one category describes what Santigold delivers. Her music is a nod to the best of the 80s and yet it is so “now.” Almost timeless and genre-less her music is a mash up – blurring and blending the lines between hip-hop, alternative, punk and dub-step. While Master of My Make-Believe is her sophomore album if it delivers anything like her album Santogold she may be graduating early with this one.
