Break In Elysian Park Homicide Yields Cache Of Guns And Drugs
Police arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of a man in Elysian Park, finding a cache of weapons, including assault rifles and drugs.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Police said Wednesday a suspect was arrested in the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man in the Elysian Park area.
The shooting was reported just before 7 p.m. Jan. 16 in the area of Park Row Drive and Casanova Street, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Drake Madison.
The victim, Joseth Ochoa Jr., was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

Madison said soon after the shooting that two possible suspects, both male, were seen leaving the location in a white vehicle.
Details about the arrested suspect, whose name was not immediately available, were expected to be released at a news conference at LAPD headquarters on Thursday.

"LAPD Central Homicide detectives, with the assistance of the joint LAPD FBI Task Force and Metropolitan Division, developed leads which led to the arrest of the shooter, as well as three others involved in the drug trade," according to a police statement announcing the news conference.
Three search warrants were served and "a significant cache of weapons, including assault rifles, and narcotics were recovered," police said.
