and the screening of OCCUPY LOVE.
Everyone is welcome.
The film, OCCUPY LOVE, reveals the heart of a movement sweeping the planet. Economic and environmental crises bring people together around the globe, dissolving barriers and borders. Acclaimed filmmaker Velcrow Ripper travels to today’s history-making hot spots, asking the question, 'How can crisis create a love story?'
The film takes us to the Egyptian revolution in Tahrir Square, Spain's
Indignado movement, Occupy Wall Street NYC, and to the Alberta Tar Sands occupied by native activists. Woven through the story is a deep exploration of the heart of the movement, the meaning of love, and concrete examples of just what “another world” looks like. Commentators include Rebecca Solnit, Naomi Klein, bell hooks, and others, speaking on alternative systems of economics, sustainability, and empathy.
Occupy Love is a moving and transformative film, featuring stunning visuals and
rich soundscapes. A powerful cinematic experience that will leave the audience
inspired.
