A Conversation on "The Abolitionists"

The Edendale Branch Library will be screening The Abolitionists throughout September, leading to a discussion on Sat., 9/27, 2 p.m.

Frederick Douglass, William Lloyd Garrison, Harriet Beecher Stowe, John Brown, and Angelina Grimke are The Abolitionists. They came from different backgrounds and believed in different tactics, but they all fought against slavery and fundamentally changed their nation.

On Saturday, September 27, 2 p.m. the Edendale Branch Library will host a conversation on the film, The Abolitionists. UCLA PhD student, Joshua Mitchell will lead the discussion along with Glendale Community College professor, Elizabeth Kronbeck.

The Edendale Branch Library is located in Echo Park at 2011 W. Sunset Blvd. Question can be directed to (213) 207-3000.

In advance of the discussion, the film will be screened on the following dates:

  • Saturday, 9/6, 2:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, 9/11, 5 p.m.

  • Tuesday, 9/16, 5 p.m.
  • Friday, 9/19, 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, 9/24, 5 p.m.
  • Friday, 9/26, 1 p.m.
