deb3321 conducts critique/discussion sessions the second Saturday of every month at 6:30pm. We believe it is necessary for those making work to have an opportunity to show their work, see others works and participate in a dialogue that provides insight and challenge. Sessions without invited participants are free.

For March’s session, Nick Brown will be the invited guest critic. Nick will discuss each participant’s work. Nick uses the approach of constructive criticism, a friendly collaborative approach which provides thoughtful and skilled observation with the intent of raising performance standards..

Just since 2015, Nick is/has been exhibiting at San Diego Art Institute, MAS Attack 8, San Diego, CA, February; Coachella Valley Art Center, LA n CV 2, A Survey of Contemporary Art in LA. CA. February La Sierra University, Riverside, CA, January; Torrance Art Museum, Sincerely Yours, Torrance, CA, January. Nick is also featured in Fabrik, Issue 26. Fresh Faces in Art: Eight Los Angeles Artists You Should Know.

About Nick

Nick Brown was born in 1973 in Wolverhampton, England. He received his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Brown has taught at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY and currently teaches in the Department of the Arts, UCLA Extension program in Los Angeles.

Brown’s work has been shown at The Drawing Center, NY, NY; P.S. 122, NY, NY; The Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, IL; The Chicago Cultural Center, Chicago, IL; as well as at galleries, both nationally and internationally. Mr. Brown’s work has appeared in the New American Painting’s Pacific Coast edition, curated by Janet Bishop, Curator of Painting and Sculpture at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
