Elysian Park Brush Fire Breaks Out By Homeless Encampment
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

ELYSIAN PARK, CA — Firefighters quickly snuffed out a small brushfire in Elysian Park Monday morning.
Roughly a quarter-acre of vegetation was burnt near the 1000 block of West Riverside drive in Elysian Park. The fire broke out near a homeless encampment just before 11:30 a.m., and firefighters had it out 12 minutes later, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Air and ground were called in for an aggressive attack.
The cause of the fire is under active investigation, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Amy Bastman. No injuries were reported.
