Confessions of a Pulpiteer, directed by Peter Kors, written &
performed by Lee Boek, is a play about Boek’s days as boy
preacher/evangelist traveling and preaching his way across the U.S. at
the pivotal moment of the dawning of the civil rights struggle in the
south. It is the story of a changing country and its influences on a
changing young man as he encounters racism, personal tragedy and an
expanding understanding of people and life. “Confessions of a
Pulpiteer” was most recently presented in the 12th Annual River Stage
Playwright’s Festival of New Works, (Frank Condon, Artistic Director),
in Sacramento. Musician Nolan Porter accompanies Boek in the piece.
