Community Corner

RED Day

LOS FELIZ — Dedicated to honoring the commitment to improving local communities, the Keller Williams Los Feliz location opens its doors to its neighbors, joining tens of thousands of associates from across the United States and Canada on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the RED Day festivities. This year, the Los Feliz office has chosen the Children’s Hospital Blood Drive, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Operation Blankets of Love as their access to giving back to the community.

The chosen charities are known for saving lives, feeding more than 400,000 children in the Los Angeles area and taking care of stray, sick and neglected animals. These organizations are not only local to the Los Feliz neighborhood, but are near to the hearts of the associates working within the office.

Since 2009, on the second Thursday in May, the Keller William’s offices push for initiatives from rebuilding homes, refurbishing local parks, beautifying beaches and much more. Projects are chosen by each market center based on the needs they see within its community.

“Instead of one office helping and contributing to their community, this is the opportunity for thousands of offices to be working together to make a greater difference,” said Gary Reavis, team leader of the Los Feliz office. “We are committed to our community and will continue to help make our backyards a better, brighter place.”

Sky Tacos food truck, known for being on the Great American Food Truck Race, will be parked in front of the office as the main source of catering during RED Day and is donating 10% of proceeds. The event is an all-inclusive occasion to bring together all the families, children and furry animals in Los Feliz communities.

“It is in the Keller Williams culture to give back to the community we live in and serve,” said Nalo Jones, front desk administrative assistant and first timer in organizing and volunteering for RED Day. “We have a fantastic team of people with big hearts and I know this event will be fun and a huge success. After all, the more you give the more you receive.”

This year’s RED Day is being dedicated to Mo Anderson, Keller Williams Realty’s vice chairman of the board, who is the heart and soul leading Keller Williams.

“I am forever grateful for [the] generous spirits that have [been] demonstrated in hundreds and hundreds of communities throughout North America that it is in giving that we receive,” said Mo Anderson.
