Fire Destroys Echo Park Home

A fire tore through a home in Echo Park Monday afternoon.

Echo Park, CA - Fire tore through a vacant one-story home in Echo Park today, but no one was injured.

The fire was reported 5:21 p.m. at 975 Everett St., according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The house was "well-involved" in flames when firefighters arrived, Humphrey said. Seventy-eight firefighters responded and knocked down the fire in 36 minutes, he said.
