Firefighters Rescue Two Pet Dogs From Echo Park Fire

ECHO PARK, CA -- Two storage rooms burned below a multi-tenant house in Echo Park, and firefighters rescued two pet dogs from the flames, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The fire at was reported beneath the hillside residence, at 1034 N. Bonnie Brae St., at 11:42 a.m., fire department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

The department dispatched 26 firefighters to the scene and extinguished the flames in about 16 minutes, Humphrey said.

No injuries were reported, he added.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
