Watch: Jeremy Lin Inspires Video Shot at the Palace Restaurant

The Comediva video shot at the Los Feliz institution features actress Cynthia Addai-Robinson and is produced by Broadway and "Hart of Dixie" star Deborah S. Craig.

Sometimes a restaurant's vibe can inspire neighborhood actors and producers.

Take the time when Deborah S. Craig, an actress and producer, met friends at The Palace--a landmark Chinese restaurant in Los Feliz--for dinner one evening.

Ms. Craig originated the first Korean-American character in a Broadway musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and currently plays “Shelley Ng”, TV’s first Southern Asian character on CW’s hit Hart of Dixie.

After dining, Craig approached Palace owner, Toni Li, about the possibility of using the restaurant as a location for a video production inspired by Jeremy Lin, the basketball star.

Tony Li  believed in the pitch, acknowledged his love of comedy, and offered to act in the video as well.

Featuring Los Feliz actress Cynthia Addai-Robinson (Spartacus: War of the Damned) as a sexy and funny patron, the comedy follows her and a gilfriend who come for the Chinese food and meet two Asian-American men suitors.

As Ms. Craig told PATCH:

The significance of Jeremy Lin’s success and presence extends far beyond the world of sports. Asian-American dudes just don't get a fair shake with the ladies. Then Jeremy Lin came along. Suddenly the ladies are paying attention. Jeremy Lin has changed the perception of Asian American ballers forever. This video is about how Jeremy Lin has changed the game...again.
