The Magic of 3-D Printing ~ The Magic of Homer's Odyssey
Use technology of the future to create art from the past. Free program @ Echo Park Library over 2 nights - Mon. Oct 27 & Wed. Oct. 29, 2014.

As part of the Library Foundation’s L.A. Odyssey Project, you will learn at the Monday session the fascinating history and beauty of 3,000 year old Grecian urns. This is the same era that Greek poet, Homer, wrote the epic travel log of soldier-hero Odysseus’ 10-year journey home after the Trojan War. Next, you’ll work as a group to design your own urn using computer aided design (CAD) softward.
At the second session (Wednesday), you’ll watch the magic as an actual 3-D printer slowly builds a solid and IRL urn from the CAD image. All ages are welcome. Everyone will receive a Homer (Simpson) Odyssey poster [while supplies last]. This program is free.
