Meet Sesame Street Live's Cookie Monster and Grover at the Los Angeles Zoo on Sesame Street Live Weekend, March 12-13

Cookie Monster and Grover, two of Sesame Street’s most beloved characters, visit the Los Angeles Zoo to greet guests and pose for pictures during SESAME STREET LIVE WEEKEND on Saturday, March 12 and Sunday, March 13, 2016. The lovable "furry friends" make personal appearances for family photos with Zoo visitors with between 11 am and 3 pm, included free with paid Zoo admission. Sesame Street Live Weekend guests receive an exclusive promo code offer to save $5 on tickets to area performances of Sesame Street Live "Make a New Friend” and an opportunity to enter to win a family 4-pack of tickets. Sesame Street Live "Make a New Friend” plays on May 7 at downtown Los Angeles' Microsoft Theatre and May 27 and 28 at City National Grove of Anaheim. (SesameStreetLive.com).

Visitors to Sesame Street Live Weekend can also check out two Tasmanian devils brothers, nearly three years old, who arrived recently at the Los Angeles. Zoo. This endangered Australian species, the world’s largest carnivorous marsupial, is indigenous only to the island state of Tasmania, and the L.A. Zoo is one of just four zoos in the United States to house them in its animal collection.

Other weekend activities at the L.A. Zoo include close-up "Animals & You" encounters at 10:45 am, 11 am, and 12:45 pm, and shows and presentations such as the ELEPHANTS OF ASIA training demonstration at 11 am; the popular WORLD OF BIRDS SHOW at 11:30 am; a HAWK TRAINING DEMONSTRATION at 2 pm; a MARSUPIAL TALK at 11:30 am (Sunday only); and more. Admission to the Los Angeles Zoo is $20 for general admission (ages 13 to 61); $17 for seniors (ages 62+), and $15 for children (ages 2 to 12). No ticket is required for children under 2. Admission for Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association members is free.
