Small Grass Fire Burns 1 Acre In Sepulveda Basin
No structures were threatened but drivers on the 405 Freeway were cautioned to watch for smoke.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Thirty-two firefighters were working to extinguish a small grass fire that had burned one acre Saturday in the Sepulveda Basin. No structures were threatened and there was no wind to fan the flames, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles City Fire Department.
An official knockdown was not declared yet by 4 p.m. but the fire was under control, Stewart told Patch. The fire was expected to take longer to completely knock out due to limited accessibility.
The fire was burning near the 15700 block of W Burbank Blvd. Drivers along the 405 Freeway were advised to drive carefully as smoke may drift over the freeway, according to LACFD.
