“The World Dodgeball Society has several leagues throughout southern California, but Echo Park is all about fun times and is the most newbie oriented,” said Echo Park League Manager Josh Kadish. “We play with a ‘no-sting’ rubber ball, so it creates a friendly, lighthearted night without the bruising.”

The season is scheduled to begin on June 25, but the league is also hosting an “open gym” from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, and Tuesday, June 18, at the Echo Park Community Center.

Anyone who is thinking about joining the league, or who will not be able to join the league but would like to play dodgeball on Tuesday is welcome to show up, according to Kadish. The fee is $5.

The season lasts for around nine weeks, and the cost to play is $55 per person.
