Top 5 Spots for Valentine’s Day Dinner

Time is running out to snag a table at these five cozy spots in Silver Lake and Echo Park—but there's still hope if you're flexible.

If you haven’t started thinking about Valentine’s Day, it’s time to get on it. We’re here to help with a few inspired dinner ideas, from extravagant multi-course meals to cozy eats at down-home prices.

Cliff’s Edge
3626 Sunset Blvd., 323-666-6116
There’s something about dining under light-twinkled trees surrounded by candlelight that screams romance. Indulgences on the Valentine’s Day menu like oysters on the half shell ($15), filet mignon ($35), lobster ($36) and red velvet cake ($10) suit the special occasion ambiance. If you can’t snag a table on Monday night, consider a pre-Valentine’s Day brunch on Saturday or Sunday—also very popular, and easier on the wallet.

Café Stella
3932 Sunset Blvd., 323-666-0265
The four-course prix fixe Valentine’s Day dinner ($65) has yet to be finalized, but that hasn’t stopped Café Stella faithful from booking nearly all of the tables at this breezy French bistro. If you don’t mind dining at the off-peak hours (before 7 or after 9 p.m.), you still may be able to snag a table. Extra points if you plan something before or after dinner that makes the off-peak dining time seem appropriately planned out.
