Writing Your City: Los Angeles

AGES: 12 - 18

This four-week non-fiction workshop will focus on the importance of capturing moments in our daily lives and how the city shapes us.

We will explore theme, setting, atmosphere, concrete details, cause & effect, and character through first-person narration, and it will result in a perfect-bound publication. But more than that, this workshop offers the opportunity to be part of UGLAR’s ongoing “L.A. Stories Project” by helping the crew create a local mural that will be inspired by, and connected directly to, your work, your voice, your writing.

It is an utterly unique opportunity to explore how the city affects us and actually change the city itself. This four-week non-fiction workshop will focus on the importance of capturing moments in our daily lives and how the city shapes us.
