2 San Pablo Men Identified as Victims in Fatal Shooting

Police today released the names of two San Pablo men fatally shot in Richmond on Monday night. Hoang Nguyen, 33, and Eric Aguilar, 31, were found shot inside a vehicle, Richmond police said.

Officers found the men after responding to the 3600 block of Natalie Court near San Pablo Avenue at 8:22 p.m., when a ShotSpotter gunshot detection system recorded four gunshots. Police said Nguyen and Aguilar were shot in their upper extremities. Medical personnel pronounced them dead at the scene.

As of this morning, police have not determined why the victims were targeted. Investigators are working on gathering more information on a possible suspect or motive.
