7 New Coronavirus Deaths Reported In Contra Costa County

EL CERRITO, CA — The coronavirus death toll in Contra Costa County has risen by 7, to 146, according to figures released by county health officials on Tuesday. The 7 deaths ties a record for the deadliest single day in the county, set on July 29.
The number of confirmed cases also soared, with 359 newly diagnosed infections. The total number of cases in the county since the start of the pandemic is now 9787.
The number of patients hospitalized for complications from COVID-19 caused by coronavirus is 104. This is the first time in almost a week that the number of patients in the hospital has gone over 100.

Across the entire Bay Area, there are currently 641 people hospitalized for COVID-19.
Here in El Cerrito there have still been no deaths and 65 confirmed cases.
