Alleged Deputy Sex With Inmates: Felony Charges

The accused former deputy could be sent to prison, if convicted.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — A former Contra Costa County sheriff's deputy was charged with four felonies for unlawful sex acts with two consenting female inmates, the Contra Costa District Attorney's Office announced.

Patrick Morseman of Vallejo, who was arrested April 4, had been assigned to the West County Detention Facility when the alleged sex acts occurred.

Prosecutors said Morseman was charged Friday for having unlawful oral copulation and sexual intercourse with the inmates in a jail cell during his shift on March 31. The charges stem from penal code violations for sexual activity with a detainee in jail.
