RICHMOND, CA — Two people were found dead Friday morning in a residence near East Richmond Heights after Richmond police were asked to make a welfare check on the occupants.
Officers were dispatched to the 5600 block of Clinton Avenue about 9:57 a.m. in response to an email from someone in the home to a family member "indicating they planned to self-harm," police said on social media.
The incident is being investigated as a murder and suicide, police said. Investigators believe it was an isolated incident and there was no threat to public safety.
Detectives are continuing to gather evidence. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Richmond Police Department at (510) 620-6616.
