Leather Jacket Scam

I was just approached at the El Cerrito Wells Fargo Bank by a man in an SUV. He said his name was Giovanni and he had Colorado license plates. He said he was Italian had these leather jackets from a convention in San Francisco, and he was heading to the airport, but he didn't want to take them back to Italy because he would have to pay 25% tax. He said they were worth $1000 at Nordstrom, but he would give me three if i paid $500 for the fourth one.

He said he wanted to buy a computer pad for his son because they are cheaper here. He was very pleasant to talk to and kept apologizing for his poor English. He showed me his passport and business card and some Euros.

I thought it sounded like a scam, so i said no and walked away. When I got home I looked it up on the internet and found it was a common scam.
