Wed., Aug. 14, when Berkeley songwriter Steve Taylor-Ramírez brings
his folk, Latin and blues to the popular new Off the Grid
roaming-mobile-food market in El Cerrito.
“With some fresh original uptempo
songs, I hope to transform El Cerrito into 'El Cerritmo' ('ritmo
being Spanish for rhythm),” Taylor-Ramírez said.

A former guitarist for a gospel band in
Oakland, Taylor has brought his bilingual music to many popular Bay
Area venues. He went to Skyline Studios, Oakland, with his band
recently and recorded six original songs. Corey Mason, host of
worldOneradio, called the EP "warm, rootsy and genuinely
charming" and put it in regular rotation on KECG 88.1 FM, El
Cerrito. Dj Nobody of KUSF Radio called it "Lovely … Steve is
developing a new musical genre.”
