Body Worn Cameras: El Cerrito Police Department Forum

A draft policy has been developed and is ready for public scrutiny.

EL CERRITO, CA — Police department body worn cameras have proven to be valuable tools in establishing actions by officers and the public. They're also expensive - not just the purchase of the camera, but the ongoing storage costs of all that video.

The El Cerrito Police Department will host a public forum on Body Worn Cameras (BWCs) on September 12, at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 10890 San Pablo Ave.

The Police Department will ask for feedback on a draft BWC policy. The policy has been in development with feedback from the City Attorney, City Staff, the District Attorney's Office and Peer Reviews. Now it's time for the public to weigh-in.
